From now, we will select every month a paper published during the last 30 days.
The selection is based on different criteria:
- Published in a peer review journal
- Health effect (safety / toxicity) study or at least a study on the interaction between nanomaterials and the biological world.
- The study must contain a minimal physico-chemical characterisation of the material
Other criteria are:
- Originality
- Use of new techniques or significant technical changes of existing techniques in order to score health effects of nanomaterials
In the selection we try not to consider the impact of the journal, although we realise that high impact journals often present more original papers.
In brief, the paper that will be presented as Nanopaper of the month will, in our opinion, contribute to advanced the research or will provide crucial data to build a good database on health effects linked to the properties of the nanomaterial.
In our comments we will highlight the most important findings in this paper.
We hope that this initiative will help visitors to our website, who are not familiar with health effects research, to find good and relevant information.
